Tina Louise, an American writer and actress, best known for portraying Ginger Grant on the television show Gilligan's Island during the 1960s. In the 1950s, she began her career as an actress on stage for Bettle Davis' musical Two's Company. Then, in 1956 she had her breakthrough with a performance on Broadway with Li'l Abner. In the year 1957, she released her debut music album called It's time for Tina. Louise was first seen on the screen in Hollywood in God's Little Acre, a film released in 1958. She performed the role of Griselda who was a character from the film. When she was a student at Lee Strasberg, she attended the Actors Studio New York. The year 1964 saw her signing to CBS and portrayed Ginger Grant. Louise continued to have a successful professional career balancing Broadway television with Hollywood and portraying an empathetic in contrast to her glamour-doll image received.
