Ina-Garten

Ina Garten has been a popular American cookbook author over the decades. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa that began in 2002. Ina began her career working for the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy papers. While she found it interesting initially, she eventually lost her interest in it and purchased a small speciality food shop - Barefoot Contessa. After more than 18 years of making her business a massive success, she sold it, and then began creating her first novel. Many more cookbooks, and magazines columns that were added. In the meantime the Food Network show was also successful. She sells many products, from ingredients for cooking, to kitchenware and storage. Ina never went to any cookery schools nor worked at a restaurant. She is entirely self-taught. Her name is ascribed to her simple approach to cooking and effortless approach to entertainment. She is known for her simple recipes such as Skillet of Roasted Lemon Chicken, Macaroni and Cheese with Beef Bourguignon and the Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
